Optical Engineer

ANGSTROM SUN TECHNOLOGIES, INC is seeking a self-directed, highly motivated individual to join our team in Boston, as an Optical Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 The basic function of this Role is to develop high quality optical systems for advanced thin film characterization. The optics engineer contributes to product development in the areas of product concept definition, product design, analysis, component design, prototyping, and testing.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Designing both the signal processing and imaging part of the optical system.

• Optimizing the design of the system for manufacturability

• Working with vendors to develop specifications for optical components and assemblies.

• Evaluating optical components and build prototypes to validate the design. Responsibilities also include identification and validation of new optical technologies.

• Knowledge on thin film processing and characterization techniques is highly desired

• Education: Minimum BS in Physics, Optics or Materials Science 

• Programming experience is a plus

Sales/Application Engineer

ANGSTROM SUN TECHNOLOGIES, INC is seeking a self-directed, highly motivated individual to join our team in Boston, as a Sales and Application Engineer.
This position will service the North American area and can be based anywhere in the region. This position is accountable for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing instrument at customer side, Instructs customers and sales personnel on the operation and maintenance of equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs warranty work and start-up service;

• Performs testing, calibration, checking, correcting, adjusting and part component replacement services on our products for our customers.

• Provides technical support in product service, product training and applications.

• Consults with product support and engineering personnel to determine solutions to complex problems in system operation;

• Reports customer suggestions on product improvement and existing product designs to the appropriate technical specialist.

• Assists in the developing design modifications.

• Implements modifications and provides installation support for the modifications.

• Develops and implements training courseware and provides training to customers and other sales/service representatives.

• Develops and maintains ongoing customer relationships with regards to all aspects of equipment repair and maintenance.

• Maintains service equipment, tools and documentation.

Technician

ANGSTROM SUN TECHNOLOGIES, INC is seeking a self-directed, highly motivated individual to join our team in Boston, as an Instrumentation Technician.
The basic function of this Role is to provide necessary technical and hands on support to our customers for Thin Film/Coating Testing Instrument.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Participate actively in business activity. Promote our various optical instrument tools

• Evaluate samples from potential customers and prepare evaluation report

• Provide hands on support as required to resolve problems as they occur at customer side.

•  Assist in the development of new instrument

• Keep abreast of and evaluate new methodologies, work practices, equipment, instrumentation, controls, technology, etc., for new applications

• Maintain an error free execution. Pay very close attention to details and executes work to the highest possible standard. Apply a Continuous Improvement philosophy to daily work.
